DeepX Targets Physical AI Era With On-Device AI Chips at KIW 2026
Published: · Source: hankyung.com

Kim Sang-wook, an executive director at DeepX, said at Korea Investment Week (KIW) 2026, held on May 15, 2026, at The Shilla Seoul in Jangchung-dong, that DeepX aims to secure infrastructure leadership in the coming physical AI era. He said AI is moving beyond a stage in which it remains inside data centers and toward an era in which it runs directly on devices around people. As context, he pointed to Intel’s role in the PC era and Qualcomm’s role in the mobile era. DeepX says it will use its proprietary ultra-low-power semiconductor technology and on-device AI chips to address heat and cost issues linked to existing GPU solutions and seek early positioning in the global market. The message reflects a shift in AI processing from data centers to real-world devices and sites. Source: hankyung.com
