AI GPU Futures Trading Nears as CME Plans First Computing Futures
Published: · Source: mk.co.kr

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), the world’s largest derivatives exchange, plans to launch its first “computing futures” this year with Silicon Data, based on AI GPU rental fees. The product will be the first to use an index tied to GPU rental prices, making computing power a tradable futures underlying. As AI industry growth increases demand for GPUs and rental-price volatility, CME frames computing power as “the oil of the 21st century” and is introducing a new price-management tool. AI companies and investors are expected to use it to hedge risks from changes in GPU rental costs. Source: mk.co.kr.
