Hana Bank Secures 6.55% Dunamu Stake, Expands Won Stablecoin Alliance

Hana Bank will acquire part of Kakao Investment’s stake in Dunamu for about 1 trillion won, securing a 6.55% holding. The acquisition date is reportedly set for the 15th of next month. Hana Financial Group aims to strengthen its competitiveness in new finance and elevate its partnership with Dunamu through the investment. The cooperation is set to cover digital finance areas including won-denominated stablecoins and security token offerings, or STOs. Dunamu, a major domestic virtual asset operator, posted net profit of 708.8 billion won last year.
