Mirae Asset Securities surpassed Japan’s Nomura Holdings in market capitalization as of the close on May 11, 2026. According to the Korea Exchange, Mirae Asset Securities was valued at 44.4296 trillion won, more than 9 trillion won above Nomura Holdings, whose value was 3.8 trillion yen, or about 35 trillion won. At the end of last year, Mirae Asset’s market value was only about one third of Nomura’s. This year, a strong Kospi rally, average daily stock-market trading value above 60 trillion won in May, and expectations tied to SpaceX investments pushed its share price up 240%. Samsung Securities, NH Investment & Securities, Korea Investment Holdings and Kiwoom Securities also posted sharp gains this year. The market is watching whether Mirae Asset Securities can report 1 trillion won in first-quarter operating profit. Source: hankyung.com
